Syphilis Treatment and Testing

This interactive map shows syphilis treatment and testing locations across the Southeast United States, overlaid on county-level growth rate data for Primary and Secondary Syphilis.

Syphilis Treatment and Testing

This interactive map shows syphilis treatment and testing locations across the Southeast United States, overlaid on county-level growth rate data for Primary and Secondary Syphilis. These data were collected from the CDC’s National Prevention Network Database. We then merged these data with the county level growth rate data for Primary and Secondary Syphilis.

Note

Using this map we can identify counties where there are high growth rates, but few testing and treatment locations. These counties may be underserved and in need of additional resources or could benefit from specific outreach and alternate testing strategies (e.g., mobile testing, self-collection kits, self-testing, etc.).
